About Jackie
Jackie Burton is the founder of JMB Strategies LLC. For more than a decade, she has worked across international and domestic philanthropy, nonprofit strategy and development, disaster recovery, movement ecosystem building, and complex stakeholder engagement to advance social justice.

She spent nearly eight years at the Ford Foundation and two years at Amalgamated Charitable Foundation (now Assets Under Movement). Her experience spans philanthropic strategy and grantmaking, fundraising and donor engagement, ecosystem coordination, and advising in high-stakes contexts.

Jackie brings a rare combination of deep philanthropic expertise, strategic and innovative thinking, and relationship-driven advising to clients seeking more meaningful and informed approaches to philanthropy and social impact. She believes philanthropy is an essential component of a sophisticated and comprehensive wealth management strategy.

She holds an M.A. in Urban Planning from NYU and is a certified philanthropic advisor through Daylight Advisors. Jackie lives in Boulder, Colorado, and New York City and serves on the boards of the Colorado Chapter of Blood Cancer United and Sembrando Sentido in Puerto Rico. She is an avid traveler and reader, an ultra-marathoner, is conversational in Spanish, and is learning to sail.
